Sarcazmo's favorite movies of the year 1990's.

Goodfellas. In quite possibly the greatest year for movies I have ever seen, Goodfellas comes out on top as the best picture of 1990. Look at these titles...Flatliners, Dances With Wolves, Edward Scissorhands, House Party, Jacobs Ladder, King of New York, Nightbreed, Misery, Predator 2, Robocop 2, Totall Recall, Wild at Heart...the list goes on and on. Rewatch value off the charts, excessively entertaining, Ray Liottas finest moment.
The Silence of the Lambs. The easiest choice of the last 30 years, theres no competition for this. If I tried to find something wrong with this movie, I probably couldnt, so I will let it be.
Batman Returns. A tough choice here, Returns beats out Basic Instinct, Last of the Mohicans, and Unforgiven. I like too many things about Returns.... the romance angle between Batman and Catwoman, the circus gang, Christopher Walkens character, and the score is, well...Danny Elfman could kill a manatee, record it into a microphone, and it would win an Oscar. I like this movie better than Batman Begins...yeah I said it.

Groundhog Day. Great rewatch value for a romantic comedy. The Pennsylvania scenery really hits home. The most lighthearted of all of Caz's favorite pictures.

Pulp Fiction. Terrible year for movies. Its either this or Shawshank Redemption, but Pulp changed the game, movies were greenlit after its release that would have never seen the light of day. I also like when movies have unanswered questions. The briefcase of course, but who was "The Gimp", and what was Harvey Keitels character doing at a black tie party that early in the morning.
SevenSuper year for movies. Four movies could be called Caz's favorite of the year...Heat, The Quick and the Dead, The Usual Suspects, and the best Seven. Gritty, slimey, scuzzy, smart, creepy, and entertaining. Seven gets s%$t done. Even Brad Pitts ridiculous overacting couldnt stop Sevens momentum.
Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills. Documentary about 3 teenage boys accused of killing three young children. The teenage boys were accused of being satanists. There was little to no evidence of them being at the crime scene, or of them having anything to do with the killings. The victims and defendants parents are the real characters though, what a bunch of wackos.  The sequel to this is even better and a third is in the works.
The Game. David Fincher can do no wrong. The Game is fun, and you will never see Sean Penn in this normal a role ever again.  The world needs more movies like this.
Rounders. Most agonizing choice of the decade, as it was between Deep Impact, Pleasantville, or The Truman Show. Rounders has a higher rewatch value though and thats what puts it over the top. They took a movie about poker and made it interesting, you couldnt do that.

Eyes Wide Shut. Easy choice here, I love this movie. It has just enough horror and unanswered questions in it to put it over the top and into Caz's top 10 of all time. Read up on the stories of the making of this movie, fascinating. Stanley Kubrick had Tom Cruise redo a scene like 59 times or something ridiculous. It was rumored Harvey Keitel was fired from the movie becuase he "came" on one of the prostitutes during the orgy scene. Also rumored was the filming took so long, that it destroyed Cruise and  Nicole Kidmans marriage as they were sick of each other.  I dont look at "Eyes" as a marriage drama, I look at it more as a horror film that makes you fill in the blanks.
